ECNU Review of Education is an international scholarly journal initiated by East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai, China. This peer-reviewed journal aims to publish impactful and innovative research with a focus on Chinese education in the changing global context. Chinese education is broadly conceived to include a spectrum of issues related to all levels of education in China or the Chinese context.
The journal aims to serve as an interface between China and the world by cultivating a global community of scholars who are interested in Chinese education and its relationships with education around the world. It also seeks to advance knowledge, generate big ideas, induce deep changes, and bring about real impact for our common future.
The journal accepts empirical and conceptual papers, integrated research reviews and scoping reviews, policy research notes, and book reviews. It is also interested in work that theorizes Chinese educational experiences, and timely reviews of educational policy and issues. It encourages reports from major comparative research and innovative special issues.
